ChatPlus ("ChatPlus", "we", "us", "our") operates the website chatplus.app and the ChatPlus software platform, which helps businesses use the official Meta WhatsApp Business API to talk to their customers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using our website or our platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Who This Policy Covers
This policy applies to:
- Visitors browsing chatplus.app
- Businesses ("Customers") who create a ChatPlus account
- People who submit our Contact form
If your business uses ChatPlus to message your own customers, those customers' data is covered by your own privacy policy — ChatPlus only processes it on your behalf, as described below.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Your name, business name, email address, WhatsApp/phone number, and message content when you fill out our Contact form or sign up for an account.
- Billing details (billing name, address, and payment information) when you subscribe to a paid plan. Payments are processed by our payment partner — we do not store your full card number ourselves.
- Anything you or your team add inside the ChatPlus dashboard, such as templates, chatbot flows, and account settings.
WhatsApp messages, contacts, and business data
- When you connect your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) to ChatPlus, we process the data needed to deliver the Service — your contact lists, message templates, conversation history, delivery/read status, and related metadata. This flows through Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API).
- We only use this data to provide the Service to you — for example, sending your campaigns, running your chatbot, powering your team inbox, and generating your analytics. We do not read, sell, or use your customers' conversations for our own marketing.
Information collected automatically
- Log data, IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URLs — collected through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website or dashboard.
Information from third parties
- Basic account information from Meta when you connect your WhatsApp Business Account, limited to what's required to operate the integration.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and provide the Service
- To process payments and send billing communications
- To send service updates, security alerts, and — only with your consent — product or marketing updates. You can opt out any time.
- To respond to enquiries submitted through our Contact form
- To monitor, secure, and improve our platform (fraud prevention, debugging, performance)
- To comply with legal, tax, and GST obligations, and to enforce our Terms of Use
- To help keep the platform ban-safe: we may review usage patterns for signs of WhatsApp policy violations (like spam-like sending) to protect your number and our platform's standing with Meta
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in these situations:
- With Meta / WhatsApp: because ChatPlus runs on the official WhatsApp Business Platform, your account and messaging data necessarily passes through Meta's infrastructure. Meta's own Privacy Policy and WhatsApp Business Data Processing Terms govern how Meta handles that data.
- With service providers who help us run ChatPlus, under confidentiality obligations — including cloud hosting providers, payment processing partners, FormSubmit (which delivers messages submitted through our website Contact form to our support inbox), and email/support tools.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ChatPlus, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — if ChatPlus is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this Policy or one at least as protective.
- With your consent — for any other purpose you've agreed to.
5. Data Retention
- We keep account and billing information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after (typically up to 36 months) to meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations.
- WhatsApp messages, templates, and contact data are kept for as long as needed to provide the Service, or until you delete them or close your account — whichever is earlier, subject to any legal minimum retention period.
- Contact-form submissions are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — such as encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted internal access — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting you, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access, correct, or update your account information any time from your ChatPlus dashboard, or by contacting us.
- Request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, or by contacting us — this doesn't affect essential service messages.
- Withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent.
If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR (access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection). If you're in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you're in Brazil, you have rights under the LGPD. We honour applicable local law for your region. To exercise any of these rights, email support@chatplus.app.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, understand how our website is used, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the website works.
9. Children's Privacy
ChatPlus is a business tool and is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
ChatPlus serves businesses in India and other countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Morocco, and Indonesia. Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including wherever our hosting or Meta's infrastructure is located. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — for these transfers.
11. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party sites, including Meta/WhatsApp resources. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — please review their policies separately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the platform. Continued use of ChatPlus after changes means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact Us
